More isn't always necessarily better, according to Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho.
Commenting on recent poll forecasts made by top BJP leaders about the party's chances of winning an even bigger mandate in the 2022 polls, Godinho claimed that having a team of more ruling MLAs tends to create more confusion over the issue of accommodating them in appropriate positions.
"We do not want more to create any confusion. We have don't have place(s). Where will you accommodate them? This is our situation," Godninho told reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday.
Godinho, a former Congressman, also said that the BJP would get a "good majority" but refused to spell out an exact number, arguing that he was neither a pandit, nor an astrologer.
"We will get a good majority. I cannot give a figure, I am not a pandit or an astrologer," Godinho said.
The BJP currently has 28 MLAs in the 40-member state legislative assembly, and the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant-led government also has the support of one independent MLA, namely Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude.
