With the growing misuse of technology, Goa Police has taken a stride towards smart policing by launching two advanced AI-based tools -- ‘Spot the Scam’ and ‘Radical Content Analyser.’

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, while launching the AI tools at police headquarters on Tuesday, stated that it will strengthen digital investigation and cyber security.

“Goa Police is one of the most technologically advanced forces in the country... With growing misuse of technology, advanced tools are essential for modern investigation, the force has already launched other tech-based solutions like Quick Pass and Deep Trace,” he said.

The launch is part of a larger digital overhaul within the police force. In recent months, Goa Police has rolled out several initiatives including the Quick Pass App for hassle-free traffic enforcement, Deep Trace for digital identity verification using open-source intelligence, the TRACK Centre for real-time traffic monitoring, QR-based feedback systems across all police stations, and the Cyber Yoddha Volunteer Network to boost cyber awareness at the grassroots level.

The upcoming projects include a cloud-based cybercrime call centre integrated with helpline 1930 and a mobile-based tenant verification platform aimed at improving public service delivery and investigation efficiency.

“These tools are not only a contribution to Goa Police but are valuable assets for the entire country,” he added as the department has collaborated with BITS Pilani for the AI tools, now operational on a pilot basis.

The department officials explained that these serve distinct purposes wherein ‘Spot the Scam’ helps detect phishing links, fraudulent websites and scam applications; and the ‘Radical Content Analyser’ uses AI to flag hate speech and extremist content in digital video material.

Director General of Police Alok Kumar expressed confidence in Goa Police’s trajectory towards digital transformation. “We will continue to make Goa Police a modern and tech-savvy police force,” he said.
