GSIDC will take call on Atal Setu: Cabral

PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral on Wednesday said the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) will study the report prepared by IIT Madras on the potholes emerging on Atal Setu and take corrective action.

“The task to prepare the report is given to IIT Madras. The GSIDC will take a call based on the report. The masking of the top layer of tar on Atal Setu has been coming out. Whether it is because of our climatic condition…In other places it has succeeded. In Goa, it may be for different reasons. They will find a solution,” Cabral said.

He said the bridge is under a four-year defect liability period after which it would be handed over to the PWD.

The State government had roped in IIT Madras to study the defects in the cable-stayed Atal Setu where potholes kept on emerging on the newly constructed bridge.
