Mauvin meets panchas at launch of Swacch Bharat Grameen II

Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho convened a state-level meeting with panchayat members to launch the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan Grameen Phase Two at Chicalim Panchayat Hall.
"We convened a meeting of all panch members to ensure a strong start to the Swacch Bharat Grameen Phase Two initiative and it should start at the ground level,” Mauvin told reporters.
“During the meeting, we reviewed and also gave directives on how to work on this programme because some panchayats have been given machines which are unused due to lack of staff.”
“We made a detailed project report in which we will include machinery offered to panchayats," said Godinho.
Meanwhile, outgoing Mormugao BDO Prasiddh Naik said the programme had the participation from sarpanchas and dy sarpanchas from all villages.
"We explained this scheme and how we can also go forward to make the place ODF free. We have given six months so that panchayats can come forward to work together to achieve the target," said Naik

Chicalim VP to generate power, water supply to Jogger’s Park
VASCO: Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Tuesday said Chicalim Panchayat will soon generate power and also recycle waste water in a scientific manner.
"As far as Chicalim panchayat is concerned, we have a MRF ready and we will soon have a 5 TPT wet garbage treatment plant. We will generate electricity from this plant which will be used to illuminate Jogger’s Park and streetlights of surrounding areas.”
“We will also have a plant for faecal waste management, from where we will generate water for use in the Jogger’s Park so that the drinking water is not utilised. We want to show how we can produce energy and transform the entire area while disposing of waste," said Godinho.

Locals stop survey of tourism officials at Velsao, Dando
