A man with criminal antecedents from Nachinola has been booked for allegedly assaulting and abusing a 15-year-old boy and his minor friend on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Shashikant Sheshko Mavlankar.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s father Ramesh Naik, the accused allegedly attacked his son and his minor friend with a knife when they had gone to meet another of their common friends at Vaiginvaddo, Nachinola.
The complainant said that the accused first abused the victims and then charged at them with the knife causing them injuries.
Mapusa Police have registered an FIR against the accused under Sections 504, 324, 506(ii) of the IPC and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
Police informed that the accused was arrested in connection with a crime in the past.
Mapusa Police is investigating further.
