MARGAO
Issuance of survey plans at the Margao survey office, housed in the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex in the South Goa district collectorate, has come to a halt for the last four days.
In fact, over 200 applications have reportedly piled up in the survey office since the system went down, bringing the issuance of survey plans to a halt. An official attributed the situation to the server, which has been down since last week, leaving applicants high and dry. Monday saw the system being restored around noon, but it was down again after a few minutes. "We are helpless in the matter as the main system is down, not just in Margao, but across the state. We will start issuing the survey plans once the system is back in order," informed an official.
Given the situation, applicants for the survey plans have been left high and dry. A survey official has informed that around 200 applications for the survey plans are presently pending at the Margao office, adding that even if the system is restored in a day or two, it will take some time to clear the backlog of applications.
