The ongoing underground power cabling entails pushing both the low tension (LT) and high tension (HT) power lines in the entire market underground. Part of Morod and Angod areas will also be covered in this project work.
The underground cabling will do away with problems of short circuit and also ensure uninterrupted power supply in the market area.
“The bunch of overhead wires will all go, leading to a total clean-up of the entire market area. The entire market and surrounding areas will get uninterrupted and quality power supply,” said Savio Fernandes, Assistant Engineer, Mapusa electricity department.
He said that feeder and service pillars are already in place and at the moment work was going on to install electricity poles all around the market.
