Parts of Mapusa go without water

MAPUSA

While local MLA Joshua D’Souza assured to take up the work on the new water reservoir in Mapsua on top priority on Monday morning, in the evening several parts of Mapusa had to go without water due to maintenance work at Assonora water treatment plant.

Parts of Peddem, Shetya-vaddo, Duler, Dattawadi etc which receive water in the second half of the day failed to get supply, causing much distress among local residents.

In several other areas, people received water supply but at a very low pressure.

“We have received water at low pressure due to some work being carried out at the Assonora water treatment plant. In Mapusa, we face a typical problem. Since we are at higher altitude, we don’t get enough water when the pressure is low. And since we don’t have a storage facility we cannot pump water in the overhead tanks,” said AE Mahesh Kenaudekar.
