PWD, Electricity, Health NOC not needed for single dwelling units

PANAJI

In some cheer for those wanting to construct single dwelling units, people in municipal areas will no longer need No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Health Department, Electricity and Public Works Department to get a construction license and occupancy certificate.

The Department of Urban Development (Municipal Administration) on Tuesday issued an office memorandum relaxing the requirement of obtaining a no objection certificate from Health Department, Electricity Department and Public Works Department in order to obtain construction licenses and occupancy certificates for single dwelling units that are located in municipal areas.

The order is applicable for Municipalities and Corporations across the State. The decision has been taken to facilitate people to get permission easily for the construction of houses.

The move will reduce the hardship and delay faced by people and will facilitate the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in obtaining construction license and occupancy certificates.

The internal order has been issued by Director of Urban Development Tariq Thomas.
