Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane and Poriem MLA Deviya Rane have praised the villagers for offering their assistance in the firefighting operations.
“With the flames consuming our forests over the past few days, life has been frantic for everyone. Nonetheless, I want to take a moment to thank the group of youth from Morlem and the Forest Department, who have both contributed to our efforts to put out the fire,” said Vishwajit Rane.
“To ensure the safety of our forests and the wildlife, the firefighters and the Forest Department climbed difficult hills and travelled for miles. The residents of Valpoi have been very diligent in alerting us about fire. I am truly happy and grateful for all your hardwork.”
Poriem MLA Deviya Rane said the number and intensity of the forest fires were unprecedented in Sattari.
“In such difficult moments, it is important for people to support the emergency services in every possible way and the youth of Morlem have been role models. They have set an excellent example on how to support the government machinery,” she added
