Royson Rodrigues, Rajkumar Maithi, and Sandric Fernandes are certainly a big catch for the SIT, as their interrogation will further spill the beans about the land fraud. The Goan has reliably learnt that Royson ran out of luck while in hiding in Dubai, forcing him to return to India via Mumbai, where he was nabbed by the SIT.
Sources said that just when the investigation commenced on a larger scale, Royson fled to Dubai on a three-month tourist visa. He would have remained in hiding had he succeeded in getting his visa extended. "He flew to Mumbai where the SIT team was already camping to take him into custody. He was arrested followed by the other two arrests, all of whom were later brought to Goa on a transit remand," an officer said.
The local is said to have fraudulently sold several plots on forged papers. The SIT stated that buyers of these plots will also face the heat if found to have criminal intent.
