The Sarpanch of Davorlim, Herculano Niasso and deputy Sarpanch Michelle Miranda were on Wednesday voted out of office in a no confidence motion.
At the meeting held on Wednesday, the no trust motion was carried by 6-5 votes.
The no trust motion was tabled by six Panchayat members, including Santosh Naik, Vidhyadhar V Arlekar, Sham Rajadhyax, Sampada Naik, Carmino Carvalho and Vidhi V Varak.
The six signatories had alleged that the Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch were not taking Members into confidence while taking decision.
They further charged the duo for their non-cooperative attitude of the Sarpanch and the deputy Sarpanch in implementing developmental works, lack of transparency.
“The Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch are mismanaging the resources of the village, such as funds allocated for development projects, resulting into delays, in inefficiencies, affecting the overall process and well-being of the village”, the signatories had stated.
