Rajya Sabha MP and AITC Goa co-in charge Sushmita Dev Sunday ripped into the BJP Government, both at the Centre as well as Goa as she highlighted the plight of the common man. Along with Goa TMC leader Rakhi Prabhudesai, both spoke about issues critical in Sanguem which the BJP had failed to address.
Highlighting the absolute failure of ‘Digital India’, Sushmita Dev said, ‘The Prime Minister talks about Digital India, but the people of Sanguem are deprived of any sort of connectivity. There is no proper reception in 4 to 5 panchayats here due to lack of network towers.’ Lashing out at Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Dev questioned as to what steps had he taken to improve connectivity in Sanguem.
Making a promise to the people of Sanguem, Sushmita Dev said, ‘TMC will take up the water crisis in the constituency as a priority. People can survive for 6 months without connectivity, but not without water.’
She also promised that once TMC comes to power, the issue of land rights too will be resolved. ‘Under TMC's 'Mhaje Ghar, Maalki Hakk' scheme, people who do not have land will be given title and ownership rights of land in possession up to 250 square metres,’ she said.
