Police in a raid on Sunday morning at a godown at Angod, Mapusa near Alankar Theatre seized around Rs 34.37 lakh liquor which was illegally stored.
Police got a tip from reliable sources that alcohol stock has been stored at the location illegally. Based on the tip police raided the premises and seized liquor.
Around 1,100 liquor cartoons were seized by the police. The cost of seized alcohol is around Rs 34.37 lakh. The godown is owned by Satish Sawant. Seized alcohol has been handed over to Excise department inspector Vishal Bhivshet.
Police panel under the leadership of Ninad Deulkar, PSI Sunil Patil, Gaurav Naik, Hawaldar Sushant Chopdekar, Shivaji Shetkar, constable Prakash Polekar, Abhishek Kansar, Akshay Patil, Surendra Gawas, Laxmikant Naik and Anil Rathod conducted the raid.
