PANAJI: Vasco Railway Police arrested 28-year-old Satyam Singh from Bihar with 650 grams of suspected ganja, valued at Rs 65,000, at Vasco railway station. The accused was caught red-handed during a raid conducted yesterday evening at Platform No. 1.
A native of Ismailpur village in Hajipur, Bihar, Satyam was reportedly residing near the Bedroll Office at the station. Based on a tip-off, police conducted the raid and seized a quantity of dry greenish leaves, stems, and flowering parts suspected to be ganja. The substance was reportedly emitting a strong, intoxicating odour.
A case has been registered under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, marked as Vasco Railway Police Station Crime No. 03/2025. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
