Beware, Goans. A gang from Uttar Pradesh is on the prowl posing as air-condition technicians to fleece gullible Goans.
Opening an app as AC technicians, the gang seems to have adopted a simple strategy – they charge the normal servicing fee of Rs 650, but make money by discharging the gas from the AC unit.
Two persons, both natives of Uttar Pradesh, were caught red-handed in the act of discharging the gas from the unit when they were called for servicing. Interrogation of the duo has revealed that they are part of a gang on the prowl fleecing gullible Goans posing as AC technicians.
The duo confessed before the media that they have cheated over a dozen people so far by deliberately discharging gas from the AC unit and refilling the gas by charging Rs 3,500.
The duo were handed over to the Margao police for further investigations.
