MARGAO

The government intends to undertake modernization and complete re-development, operation and maintenance of the existing Bus Terminal at Margao, Goa through Public Private Partnership (the “PPP”) on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (the “DBFOT”) model (the “Project”). The Project shall involve development of Bus Terminal Facilities and Commercial Complex at the Project Site.

*Margao, synonymously Goa's commercial capital and one of its fastest growing cities serves as a vital transport hub, with its central bus terminal, spread across 67,600 sq.mt in South Goa, acting as a primary gateway for intercity and intrastate buses.

*The redevelopment is envisaged to accommodate bus bays, depot, parking, fuel station, workshop unit, departure and halting areas, passenger terminal, etc. for operating regulated or obligatory bus services owned and controlled by KTC, other state road transport corporations (under any arrangement or agreement supported by adequate platforms), private agencies, and other ancillary infrastructure and amenities, including and commercial developments as applicable under the governing bye laws and zoning regulations. Combining the bus terminal facilities with permitted commercial development shall further make the Project commercially viable.

*The gross total area of the proposed site is 67,600 sq.mt. Out of the total area, 5,000 sq.mt will be designated as a standalone facility due to an existing EV charging agreement and 250 sq.mt of area to be reserved for an existing temple. Therefore, the net area available for redevelopment is 62,350 sq.mt, spread over two contiguous land parcels.
