Alert RPF duo rescues railway passenger at Margao station

A rail passenger had a miraculous escape after he slipped and fell between the train and Platform No. 1 of the Margao railway station. Alert Railway Protection Force personnel on duty at the platform rescued the passenger.
Konkan Railway said the passenger was attempting to alight from the moving Train No. 20112 Konkan Kanya Express during its 19:00 hrs departure from the platform when he slipped and fell between the train and the platform.

“RPF Constable Shri Kapil Saini and Head Constable Shri R. S. Bhai, who were on duty at Platform No. 1, acted with exceptional alertness and immediately rescued the passenger,” officials said.
Acknowledging their commendable alertness and timely intervention, Santosh Kumar Jha, CMD, Konkan Railway, has awarded both RPF personnel Rs 10,000 each.
"The passenger expressed his gratitude to the RPF personnel for their timely and life-saving action. Konkan Railway once again appeals to all passengers not to board or alight from moving trains, as such actions pose a serious risk to life and safety. Travellers are advised to strictly follow all safety guidelines while on railway premises. Your safety is our utmost priority," the Konkan Railway said in a statement.
