The Goa government today directed all Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) operating in the state to ensure 60% supply of commercial LPG to establishments, including hotels, restaurants, roadside eateries, and home kitchens, in line with guidelines issued by the Centre.

The directive follows instructions from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas amid ongoing geopolitical developments and global supply concerns.

In an official letter issue by the Office of the Secretary (Civil supplies) Goa Govt, Secretary of Civil Supplies Sanjiv M. Gadkar, IAS stated that the Ministry had earlier restricted the supply of commercial LPG to 20% through a letter dated March 16, 2026.

Subsequently, an additional 20% allocation was permitted on March 21 for use by hotels, restaurants, and similar establishments. A further 20% allocation was granted on March 27 for industrial use.

“In view of the above, all Oil Marketing Companies operating in the State of Goa are hereby directed to arrange and supply 60% of commercial LPG to commercial establishments as per the directives issued by the Ministry, with immediate effect and subject to compliance with the stipulated conditions,” the order stated.

The government has instructed strict compliance with the directive to ensure uninterrupted supply to key sectors dependent on commercial LPG.
