Rising Star Agonda, Loliem Tigers register wins

Rising Star Agonda and Loliem Tigers recorded emphatic victories in their respective league matches of the 1st Shri Chetan Manju Desai Leather Ball T-20 Cricket Tournament held at the GCA Grounds, Maxem, Canacona.

In the first match, Rising Star Agonda outplayed Royal Tigers Faskali by a massive margin of 114 runs. Opting to bat first, Agonda posted a competitive total of 163/7, powered by Amrut Zalmi’s 68 off 42 balls and Sandy Velip’s 49 off 31 deliveries, while Bijay Pagi chipped in with 23.

In reply, Royal Tigers Faskali struggled against a disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 49 runs. Sandy Velip starred with the ball, claiming five wickets for 22 runs to earn the Player of the Match award, while Pranai Velip impressed with a tight spell, including two maiden overs while conceding just five runs.

The second match saw Loliem Tigers deliver a commanding performance to defeat Hands Fighters Tarir by 153 runs. Batting first, Loliem Tigers piled up a mammoth 258/3 in their allotted overs. Santosh Satardkar led the charge with a blistering 84 off 49 balls, including seven sixes and six fours. He was well supported by Yash Prabhugaonkar (51 off 28) and Animesh Prabhu (37 off 14), as the team built an imposing total.

Chasing a daunting target, Hands Fighters Tarir managed only 105/6. The Loliem bowlers kept things under control, with Ram Dhuri picking up two wickets, while Santosh Satardkar added a wicket to his all-round performance, which earned him the Player of the Match honours.
