Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim and Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Khandola registered dominant wins in their respective semi-finals to book their spots in the final of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Women’s Cricket Championship 2025–26.
In the first semi-final, Vidya Prabodhini outclassed Sridora Caculo College, Mapusa by 9 wickets in a one-sided contest. After winning the toss and opting to bowl, Vidya Prabodhini restricted their opponents to 113/4 in 15 overs. Ruth Awhad led the scoring with a fluent 70 off 46 balls, while Diya Pawaskar contributed 15. Ruchi Kumbhar and Athashree Shivarkar picked up a wicket each to keep the total in check.
In reply, Vidya Prabodhini chased down the target comfortably, reaching 115/1 in just 14.1 overs. Ruchi Kumbhar anchored the innings with a solid 47 off 41 balls, supported by Athashree Shivarkar’s brisk 29 off 20 deliveries. Kumbhar’s all-round performance earned her the Player of the Match award.
The second semi-final saw Government College Khandola defeat Don Bosco College, Panjim by 7 wickets in another convincing display. After electing to bowl first, Khandola limited Don Bosco to 115/5 in 15 overs. Kanwiksha Rekdo top-scored with 55 off 50 balls, while Agnes Fernandes added 12. Sanjana Palkar and Deevita chipped in with a wicket each.
Chasing 116, Khandola reached the target in 13.1 overs with three wickets in hand. Falguni Gaonkar played a steady knock of 37 off 53 balls, while Deevita Palkar contributed 27 off 27 balls. Deevita’s all-round effort earned her the Player of the Match, while Gaonkar was recognized as the best batter of the match.
