Deendayal Nagari Sahakari Patsanstha Maryadit, Bicholim, a leading financial institution in the co-operative sector, plans to construct a full-fledged Ayurvedic hospital on the outskirts of Bicholim town.
Addressing a news conference, Society chairman Kanta Patnekar said the hospital will be constructed in association with the Ayush department of the Central government.
“The society has purchased a land admeasuring 4,000 square metres in the Bicholim Industrial Estate area and the process of drafting a sale deed has begun,” informed Patnekar.
“Deendayal Patsanstha is very much active in the social field along with the banking sector and so far it has made a remarkable progress in the public services like Deendayal hall, ambulance service and Shishuwatika (kids school), etc.”
“Now, as the society feels everybody in the town should be healthy, it has decided to open a new Ayurvedic hospital,” added Patnekar.
Patnekar said the society has earned a net profit of Rs 1.40 crore during this financial year and has crossed 100 crores in terms of term deposit sector. Society has also announced 12% dividend to its shareholders this year.
Deputy Chairperson Vallabh Salkar, Dr Rajesh Keny, Anjali Joshi, Prof Vithal Vernekar, Arun Naik and Arjun Malgaonkar were present on the occasion.
