VALPOI: Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) Chairperson Sharafat Khan felicitated three SSC toppers, as part of the second installation ceremony celebrations of JCI Valpoi.
The three SSC toppers are Suhera Khan, Khatoon Sayed and Shruti Dessai, all from Unity High School, Valpoi.
Dashrath Mandrekar, the first president of JCI Valpoi, officially gave the charge of office to the newly elected president Roshan Dessai in the presence of JCI (Goa) Zone Vice President Piyush Ramnatkar.
Senior medical officer Dr Shyam Kanconkar congratulated and guided the meritorious students. He also spoke on ill effects of tobacco and substance abuse and his experience in dealing tobacco-related cases.
Others present for the function were VMC Vice Chairperson Dharmendra Salunke, Councillor Shaizin Shaikh, medical counsellor Aqueeb Shaikh, Abdulla Khan, social activist Vishvesh Parob, Mallu Gawas, Vishwanath Nene, Padmaker Kelkar, teachers and parents.
