1 arrested on drugs charges at Sancoale

Verna police on Wednesday arrested Sandeep Harijan, residing at New Vaddem, Vasco but a native of Hubli Karnataka, on charges of illegal possession of 575 grams Ganja worth Rs 57,500.

Verna police sources said the accused was caught red-handed during a narcotic raid at an open ground opposite Shri Birla Radha Krishna Mandir, Zuarinagar-Sancoale.

The accused person has been arrested and PSI Nikhil Dessai is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.

CANACONA Three spans of the old bridge on the Kali River along the NH66 highway connecting Goa and Karnataka collapsed early Wednesday morning.
