1 booked over forgery of GCA secy signature

CANACONA  

Four months after elections to appoint the managing committee of an educational society in Canacona, Goa Cricket Association (GCA) General Secretary Rohan Gauns Dessai filed a police complaint regarding a forgery of his signature on an alleged NOC letter to contest election of the society’s managing committee.  

Acting on the complaint, Canacona police has booked one person in this connection.  

According to Canacona police, Rohan Gauns Dessai complained that on May 27 at around 5 pm at Centro Promoter De Instrucao (CPI), the accused, Achiket Desai, allegedly prepared an NOC and forged his signature on the letter.  

Gauns Dessai further stated that the accused later produced the forged NOC letter as genuine before the CPI for the purpose of contesting election of the committee.  

The election of CPI management committee and general assembly was held on June 9.  

Canacona Police has registered an FIR and booked the accused Achiket Desai in this connection.  

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rajasekhar Reddy under the supervision of the Canacona police inspector.
