AGASSAIM: Agassaim Police detained a resident of Dongri on charges of assaulting a pickup owner and setting fire to the vehicle at Dhakte Bhat, Dongri, on Sunday.
According to Agassaim Police, the complainant, Chandrapraba Kuttikar stated that her husband had parked his pickup near his house at Dhakte Bhat, Dongri, at about noon, when the accused came to the site and set the vehicle on fire.
She further stated that when her husband rushed to the site, the accused stated assaulting him. Nearby locals rushed to the rescue of Kuttikar and gave a sound thrashing to the accused, before handing him over to Agassaim Police.
Police said the accused has been admitted in the GMC Hospital for medical treatment.
Agassaim Police registered an offence against the accused and PSI Ashish Parab is investigating the case under the guidance of PI Santosh Dessai.
