PONDA
A 40-year-old female labourer was killed when a portion of a laterite protection wall collapsed at Khadapabandh in Ponda taluka on Thursday at about 6 in the evening.
The worker, Davamma Higar, was seriously injured after being hit on the head by a stone. She was taken in a critical condition to Ponda Sub District Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The body of the victim was handed over to the family on Friday after an autopsy.
Ponda police is investigating the case under the supervision of Ponda PI Tushar Lotlikar.
