Stating that 1,500 new police personnel would be recruited into the force, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the Goa Police should be dedicated towards the development of the State.
Speaking at the passing out parade of 108 recruits at the Valpoi Police Training School, who have been inducted into the Goa Police, Sawant stated that multi-skill staff and home guards would also be recruited in the State.
Calling upon the police to provide service to society, Sawant said Goa in comparison to other states has better facilities and infrastructure to further develop the police department, adding that police stations would get new and better-equipped buildings, wherever needed.
Congratulating the 108 new police recruits, the chief minister advised them to work hard with dedication, so that they would be promoted in future.
DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena expressed his gratitude to the chief minister for providing various facilities to the police department.
He expressed confidence that with the various facilities and infrastructure, Goa Police would be among the best in the country.
Earlier, Sawant inspected a parade and later handed over awards to those police recruits who had excelled during their training.
Among those present on the occasion included Police Training School Principal Shekhar Prabhudesai, IGP Rajesh Kumar, DIGP Parmaditya, different superintendents of police and other police officials.
