Two persons were booked for illegal hill cutting at Nagorcem-Palolem in Canacona sometime before mid-February.
According to Canacona police, Rohan Bhandari, from the TCP office at Chaudi-Canacona, complained that prior to February 11, the accused persons, Anand Naik Gaonkar of Cuncolim and Bhiku Naik Gaonkar of Canacona with their common intention illegally carried out hill cutting at Nagorcem-Palolem without obtaining permission from the authority concerned.
Canacona police accordingly registered an FIR under Section 17-A of TCP Act 1974 r/w 3(5) of BNS 2023 and further investigation is being carried out by Canacona PSI Ajit Velip.
