The headmistress at a high school in Sanguem has been booked on charges of slapping a student multiple times.
The incident is reported to have occurred during school hours on Wednesday, when the headmistress allegedly slapped the boy on his face 4-5 times in front of his classmates.
When the student's mother was informed of the incident, she immediately confronted the headmistress. However, instead of trying to resolve the issue, the headmistress is reported to have shouted at the parent.
The parent then reported the matter to the school chairman, who promised to take the necessary steps after convening a special meeting on Thursday.
In the meantime, the student’s parent was able to get CCTV footage from the classroom, which reportedly showed the teacher slapping the student multiple times.
Based on this video evidence, Sanguem Police registered an offence against the headmistress and further investigation is in progress.
