CANACONA
The driver and cleaner of an interstate truck escaped unhurt when their vehicle fell on its side at Gulem-Canacona, in yet another mishap along the highway in the taluka.
According to sources, the mishap took place as the Tamil Nadu-registered container truck was proceeding towards Margao and was reportedly attempting to overtake another heavy vehicle after crossing the Bhumipurush Temple at Gulem at about 4.30 on Wednesday.
The truck, however, strayed towards the right and went off the road, falling on its side. The driver and cleaner, however, escaped without any injury.
According to police sources, the truck had been driven by one Partheepan M of Tirunaveli, Tamil Nadu. Canacona police is investigating the incident.
