2 Home Guard aspirants booked for submitting fake SSC marksheets

PANAJI

Panaji police have registered an offence against two persons for allegedly producing fake Secondary School Certificate (SSC) marksheets during the Home Guards recruitment last year.

The case was registered on Thursday based on a complaint filed by Deputy Commandant General of Home Guards Ezilda D’souza, alleging that Shayda Gaonkar and Ashok Dessai from Quepem fabricated marksheets of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

These fraudulent documents were then submitted at the Home Guard and Civil Defence Organisation office at Goa Reserve Police Camp, Altinho, prior to November 25, 2024, as part of the required credentials for positions as Home Guard volunteers. A police probe is underway.
