VALPOI
Two women were injured, one of them seriously, at a packaging unit in the Honda Industrial Estate on Saturday. According to reports, the incident took place when the women, identified as Shivani Gawas of Talekhol-Dodamarg in Maharashtra and Diya Gawas, were at work at the packaging unit.
At about 4 pm, a packaging machine suddenly fell on Shivani’s hand, causing severe injuries. Diya also sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Both were immediately moved to the Valpoi Community Health Centre for treatment. While Diya was sent home after primary treatment, Shivani was referred to the GMC Hospital at Bambolim for further treatment. On receiving information about the incident, a Valpoi police team visited the site and conducted a panchanama.
