2 more Covid deaths, 152 new cases

Two more Covid-related deaths were recorded in Goa on Friday raising the total victim count in the State to 672.

A 60-year-old man from Usgao with advanced pulmonary Kochs (pulmonary tuberculosis) passed away at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim while a 72-year-old man from Curtorim was brought dead at the Hospicio in Margao and tested positive for Covid-19 post mortem. 

The relatives accompanying the patient denied any prior symptoms or any  Covid testing done earlier.

Meanwhile, with the addition of 152 new cases, the total confirmed cases of the infection in the State has risen to 46,632. Of these, 1,295 are presently active while 44,665 have recovered. The recovery rate in Goa is 95.78 per cent. 

A total of 3,29,749 people have been tested in Goa so far. The number of tests conducted on a daily basis has been a little over 1,700 this week.
