2 RTI activist assaulters still at large

The accused, Ram Gopal Yadav alias Kariya, who has been arrested on charges of conspiracy and alleged involvement in the attack on RTI activist Narayan Naik has been granted three days in police custody by a JMFC Court on Monday.

Meanwhile, the two assailants who are accused of brutally attacking Naik outside the Sancoale Panchayat are still absconding and police are on the lookout for them.

Sources in the police department said the case could also be handed over to the Crime Branch after it was entrusted to investigate the triple suicide by a migrant family in Zuarinagar.

RTI Activist Narayan Naik had been brutally assaulted by two masked men outside the Sancoale Panchayat on Saturday afternoon.

The attack has brought into focus the law and order in the State, with the opposition parties hitting out at the government for the assault  on the activist outside a government office in broad daylight.
