Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Tuesday distributed cheques for financial assistance to 20 beneficiaries under the Provedoria Minister’s Discretionary Fund for their regular medicines and other medical expenses.
Amonkar handed over the cheques in the presence of Mormugao BJP Mandal President and EDC Vice Chairman Sanjay Satardekar, BJP Mormugao Prabhari Santosh Kerkar, Councillor Shradha Amonkar and others.
Speaking to media persons, Amonkar said he has been regularly following up with all ministers and various government departments to ensure that people get all benefits from the Government.
“I interacted with Minister Shubash Shirodkar and he informed me about this scheme. I have given the financial assistance to 20 beneficiaries under the Provedoria scheme. People who are sick can use the benefit to buy regular medicines or other medical expenses and we have sent more names under these schemes.”
“The people can avail of benefits for medicine without many formalities and just by providing their bills along with Aadhaar card and an application.”
“Besides this, we have also helped many people during emergency cases under the CM Relief funds,” said Amonkar.
Satardekar, Kerkar and Councillor Shraddha Amonkar also spoke on the occasion.
