235 vaccinated against Covid on Monday

A total of 235 Health Care Workers (HCWs) were vaccinated at three centres in North Goa on Monday.

Of these, 52 were vaccinated at Community Health Centre in Valpoi, 99 at CHC Bicholim, 84 at Healthway Hospital in Old Goa.

Till last week, a total of 1,561 HCWs had been given a shot of the ‘Covidshield’ vaccine across various centres in the state.

The vaccination drive will continue this week. Goa has so far received 41,500 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, one Covid death was recorded in the state’s mortality bulletin on Monday.  The deceased person was a 76 year-old woman from Nashik who lost her life at Manipal Hospital in Dona Paula. The Covid victim count of Goa has now climbed to 762. 

The Health Department’s daily bulletin stated that 57 new cases of the infection were detected from among the 1,396 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The active count stands at 767.  The total confirmed cases in the state have touched 52,977 of which 51,448 have recovered. The recovery rate is 97.11 per cent.
