As many as 24 students have tested Covid positive at the BITS Pilani campus in Zuarinagar.
According to an order on Thursday, Mormugao SDM Dattaraj Gauns Dessai stated that the Cortalim PHC Medical Officer had reported a cluster of around 24 cases of Covid among students of BITS Pilani, Goa campus.
In his order, Dessai has directed the Registrar of BITS Pilani Goa Campus to carry out RT-PCR test of all students, teachers, faculty and those who have come in close contact with the affected persons and take every precautionary measures as laid down in the Covid protocol so as to prevent the spread of Covid.
The SDM has directed that Home or Institutional quarantine to be assessed and followed strictly in consultation with health authorities and no person/transport should be allowed unchecked.
The SDM has directed that classes should be conducted online for the next 15 days and no gatherings should be allowed in the campus.
Strict vigil is to be maintained by the campus administration and necessary arrangements to be made for food, diet etc of the Covid positive cases.
Dessai has further directed that movement of persons should be only for emergency services and all person should be checked using thermal scan at the entrance gate of the campus for fever.
