In a bid to control crime, the Sancoale panchayat has decided to have CCTV cameras installed in all wards of the village.
Sarpanch of VP Sancoale, Girish Pillai informed the media on Sunday that the village panchayat has also passed this resolution in the gram sabha meeting on Sunday.
“We have got funds of around Rs 63 lakhs. We will utilise it for CCTV cameras installation in all wards and the work will commence in the next fifteen days. Every ward will have CCTV cameras. All eleven wards will be under CCTV surveillance 24x7. It is better to prevent crimes in the village especially in Zuarinagar. It is better for the police as well. We will meet Mormugao DySP, SP South, PI of Verna and take help from them to identify the location where CCTV cameras can be placed. This will be a top priority now,” said Pillai.
