28 PIs transferred in major reshuffle

In a major reshuffle, 28 Police Inspectors attached to various police stations (PS) and specialised units received orders of transfers and postings, which the department claims is ‘routine.’ 

Among the total, PI Therron D’Costa, who headed a special team of Goa Police to Haryana, Gurgaon, and Noida to investigate BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s death has been transferred to Colva PS.

Whereas, Chetan Saulekar has replaced PI Brendon D’Souza to take charge of the Panaji Traffic Cell while D’Souza is posted at State Police Control Room (SPCR), while Ninad Deulkar and Mahesh Kerkar are transferred to the newly constituted Mopa Police Station and Mopa Traffic Cell (TC) respectively.

Among the other transfers, Filomeno Costa is transferred to Traffic Cell, Colva, Tulshidas Naik to Margao Town Police Station, Ditendra Naik to Fatorda PS, Girendra Naik to Security Unit, Panaji, Vijaynath Kavlekar to TC, Curchorem, and Shitakant Nayak to Security Unit, Panaji.

Sachin Narvekar has been posted at TC, Calangute whereas Raghoba Kamat and Yogesh Sawant are posted at Security Unit, Panaji (CM Security).

Similarly, Virendra Veluskar is transferred to CB Ribandar, Vishwajit Chodankar to TC, Pernem; Alvito Rodrigues to Mormugao PS, Videsh Pilgaonkar to Tiracol Coastal Security PS, Kapil Nayak to Vasco PS, John Fernandes to PTS Valpoi, Milind Bhuimber to Saligao PS, Sachin Lokre to Crime Reader, PHQ Panaji, and Vinayak Patil to Dabolim Airport PS. Arjun Sangodkar is transferred to SB Centre Vasco, Narayan Chimulkar to CB Ribandar, Ravindra Dessai to Maina Curtorim PS, Mohan Gaude to TEC Panaji and Manguesh Volvoikar is given the charge at ACB, Vigilance. 

In a separate order, four PIs (Armed Police) are also transferred and posted at new place of posting. Among them include Nilesh Shirodkar and Saroj Divkar to Tourist Unit, and Damodar Naik and Ramkrishna Parab to IRB Camp, Ribandar. 

The department officers have claimed the transfers are routine even as it comes ahead of the peak tourist season and the busy year-end festivities.
