The Goa police team which nabbed the accused in chain snatching cases.
MARGAO: The South Goa police claimed to have busted the gang of thieves involved in chain snatching cases with the arrest of two persons and the receiver of the stolen booty.
South Goa district Police Chief, SP Pankaj Kumar Singh informed that teams led by Maina Curtorim police station in-charge, PI Shivram Vaigankar and Cuncolim PI Therron D’Costa managed to bust the gang involved in more than 10 cases of chain snatching incidents reported across the State of Goa.
Besides PI Vaingankar and PI Theron, PSI Deepesh Shetkar, PC-6963 Rizwan Shaikh, PC-7403 Dhiraj Naik and PC-7409 Chetan Koli assisted by Cuncolim police staff PSI Bharat Karath, ASI Subhash Naik, PC Nikhil Dessai, and PC Nilesh Kaskar. PSI Amre, Call Monitoring Cell joined in the operation.
The South Goa police also extended its assistance by providing the location and movement of the accused persons.
He said the police has arrested Mohammed Sarfaraz (21), resident of Davorlim, Ajay@Rooney (24), resident of Ponda, and native of Belgaum and the receiver Lilesh Lotlikar r/o Borda Margao in connection with the case.
He further said the KTM bike used in the crime has been recovered by the police.
The trio has been remanded to police custody for further investigations.
