CANACONA
Three Filipino women were hurt in a mishap, when they were struck by a taxi driver at Palolem on Friday. A taxi driver from Agonda has been booked in this connection.
According to Canacona police, Rushikesh Pagui of Dhavalkhazan-Agonda drove a taxi in a rash and negligent manner and while proceeding from Palolem towards Char-Rasta, struck against three pedestrians from Philippines, Marilolu Virador, Jovy Abdel, and Farrash Kristna, presently residing at Palolem.
The three Filipino women, who were walking towards the Char-Rasta direction, were injured in the mishap and were shifted to the Canacona Community Health Centre for medical treatment.
Police informed that Pagui fled from the spot after the mishap. Police have registered an offence under Sections 281,125(a), BNS 2023 and Sec. 134 (a) &(b) of MV Act and Canacona Head Constable Paresh Velip is conducting further investigation.
