Ata time when a large number of needy people are still struggling toget food and essential supplies in different parts of the State, thebest in the industry have pooled resources for a massive humanitarianoperation during the ongoing nationwide lockdown.
FomentoResources, Cidade de Goa Resort and Taj Hotels have lent a helpinghand to the needy who have been most hit by the lockdown and havebeen stranded in the State.
Tobegin, these companies provided essential items like soaps,toothpastes, combs, etc. for around 1,250 needy people and theseitems were handed over by Cidade de Goa Resort General Manager SureshKhanna to the North Goa Collector's office on Friday, as part oftheir social responsibility.
“Besidesthese supplies, we intend to provide food cooked by Cidade de GoaResort to 1,000 needy people everyday and this operation will beginin the next few days,” said Khanna.
“Thefood will be cooked in the hotel and will be delivered to the needypeople by the government administration," Khanna added.
Hestated that concerted efforts are needed to tackle the spread ofcoronavirus.
With businesses establishments in the State have shutdown due to the lockdown, tourists and migrant workers are worst hitand have been stranded in the State as public transportation has alsocome to a halt.
TheState government has been supplying them with essential commodities,while various social organisations and business establishments havealso offered their helping hand to address the shortage of food andessential supplies during the lockdown.
