3 more Covid deaths; active cases dip below 1,000

Goa recorded 3 more Covid deaths on Tuesday taking the death toll of the State to 710.

While two of these deaths occurred at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, one was recorded at a private hospital in North Goa. One of the two deaths recorded at GMC occurred within an hour of the patient being admitted. This patient was previously being treated at a private hospital in South Goa since December 10 and had been displaying symptoms of Covid-19 since December 7.

Meanwhile, 92 new cases of the infection were detected in the last 24 hours in Goa. Along with 124 recoveries, this has helped the active Covid count of Goa fall to 995, a sub-1,000 figure for the first time in five months.

Presently, Goa’s total confirmed cases stand at 49,566 of whom 47,861 patients have recovered. The recovery rate is currently 96.56 per cent.
