CANACONA
Stating that politics in Canacona has reached its lowest level, RG Supremo Manoj Parab alleged instead of bringing in development, politicians have embarked on selfish agendas with the sole aim of achieving self-recognition.
“Three to four people have been fighting within to get party nomination to contest elections in Canacona. There is no concern for party workers (karyakartas). Take for example, in the name of development, Canacona MLA entered BJP, but no development took place in Canacona the way it should have been,” Prab said.
He spoke about the lack of krishi ghar, fishermen’s woes, portable water woes of locals at Keri, Nadkem in Cotigao, no proper roads, schools, anganwadis, poor health facilities, lethargic public transport, CZMP, forest dwellers, etc.
He also spoke against the Bhumiputra Adhikarini bill.
Parab informed RG won’t seek migrant votes. Let the Congress, BJP and Goa Forward share it...let them share the spoils, he said. “Our aim is to have 35-40 per cent Goan votes which are enough for us to win seats,” he added.
RG is for POGO, but we are not against migrants, they are free to support us in our campaign to protect Goan identity, he said. We are contesting all 40 seats, out of which our revolutionaries have established contingency base in 33 constituencies. We will 22 to form the government, he stated.
According to Parab, RG has registered about 30,000 members.
