GHRDC recruits women guards

VALPOI
The government-run GHRDC for the first time has recruited the first batch of 90 women into government service. 

Narayan Navati, Managing Director of the corporation, said he hopes the women guards would do well after just 20 days of training.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the convocation ceremony held at the grounds of Valpoi Forest Training Center.

On the occasion, the director of the corporation Sarvesh Parab Manoj Kharde and the officer Of Valpoi CHC Dr Shyam Kanakonkar were also present.

Navati said that the corporation is now financially viable. “Initially, a large number of security guards were recruited. Now, the emphasis will be on gradually recruiting multi-skilled personnel in private establishments.” 

Navati clarified that the appointment of the new security guards is planned to start from December. 

Speaking on the occasion, Director Sarvesh Parab said that the corporation has undertaken good work in the state. 

Director Manoj Kharde said that the government has successfully experimented with good employment generation through the corporation. 

Deepak Gavas, who imparted training to the guards was felicitated. The programme was compered by Siddhesh Bordekar.
