Authorities ask passengers to take note of closure on Tuesday

At least five trains will be affected when the Konkan Railway authorities effect a mega three-hour block on two sections of their railway line on Tuesday for repair and maintenance work of the tracks.
The three-hour mega block of the railway line is planned on the Kadawai-Ratnagiri and Margao-Kumta sections disrupting the schedules of at least five train journeys and the KRC authorities have asked passengers to take a note of the closure of the railway line.
The closure of the Kadawi-Ratnagiri section for three hours on Tuesday, October 10 will be from 7.40 am to 10.40 am which will affect the train no. 19577 Tirunelveli Jn. Also, the journey of the Jamnagar Express between Thokur and Ratnagiri starting on October 9 will be rescheduled by three hours.
Meanwhile, the train no. 16346 from Thiruvananthapuram Central to Lokmanya Tilak (T) Netravati Express which starts on October 9 will also have its timings tweaked by an hour and half between Thokur and Ratnagiri and the timings of train no. 12051 from Mumbai CSMT to Margao of Janshatabdi Express starting on October 10 is being tweaked by about 20 minutes in the Khed-Chiplun section.
Meanwhile the closure of the tracks between Margaon and Kumta section will be on October 12 from 11 am to 2 pm again for maintenance work.
This will affect the service of two trains -- Mangaluru Central to Margao special journey starting on October 12 will be terminated at the Kumta station and the Margao to Mangaluru Central special journey commencing on October 12 will actually begin its journey from Kumta station on schedule and will be partly cancelled in between Margao and Kumtha section.
