Four former MLAs are among the 11 candidates announced by Congress in two separate lists released on Tuesday.
The former legislators who have been given the ticket are Michael Lobo (Calangute), Prasad Gaonkar (Sanguem), Lavoo Mamledar (Marcaim) and Aleixo Sequeira (Nuvem).
Others who have also been given the party tickets are Aman Lotlikar (Tivim), Vikas Prabhudesai (Porvorim), Anthony L Fernandes (St Andre), Dharmesh Saglani (Sanquelim), Janardhan Bhandari (Canacona), Meghasham Raut (Bicholim) and Savio D'Silva (Velim).
Lobo was a minister in the BJP government, before he along with his wife, Delilah, left the party and joined the Congress recently.
Former Ponda MLA Mamledar has been in the MGP and TMC, before bagging the Congress ticket to contest in Marcaim constituency. Prasad Gaonkar, an independent MLA in Sanguem, will now contest on the Congress symbol.
Congress has declared 26 candidates in four lists which have been released so far.
