Six days after Cyclone Tauktae battered the State, residents in the remote village of Neturlim in Sanguem still struggle for water, electricity and internet connectivity.
The worst affected are those residing in the hilly areas of Tudov, Salgini and Verlem.
A large number of electricity poles and cables were damaged due to Cyclone Tauktae on Sunday, disrupting power supply and internet connectivity.
A few villagers were, however, lucky enough to get drinking water as it is tapped from springs atop the hillocks.
Villagers said when the cyclone struck their area, many people had helped electricity department staff to clear trees which had uprooted and fallen on electricity cables, leading to disruption in power supply.
The villagers continue to remain without power supply as the department is yet to complete the work to repair or replace the damaged electricity poles and cables in the affected areas.
“While villagers in nearby areas have already got power supply, those residing in the remote areas are yet to get power and regular water supply,” said a villager Amit Naik.
Electricity officials were reportedly working hard to restore power supply in the village and it is likely to take at least some more days for villagers to finally get power supply in the village.
