60% road works pending due to labour, material scarcity: Pauskar

PANAJI

PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar has admitted that 60% of road works allotted in 2020-21 are still pending due to a shortage of labour and material.

Speaking to reporters, Pauskar has, however, assured that pending work on all highways and internal roads will be completed in the next four months or before elections.

Pauskar also expressed confidence that Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar and he would get the BJP tickets to contest the 2022 assembly polls, as senior BJP leaders had assured them of tickets while joining the government after having left the MGP.

“The BJP will also assess my work as a minister,” he added.

Pauskar denied having any differences with the party leaders during their interaction with the BJP state election incharge Devendra Fadnavis.

"I did not have altercations with any leaders at the party meeting,” said Pauskar.

There have been reports of a battle of sorts over the party ticket for Sanvordem constituency, presently represented by Pauskar.

BJP leader Vinay Tendulkar is reported to be eyeing Sanvordem constituency and has begun working in that direction across the constituency.
